Creative Writing

School Recently, I was reintroduced to my own education. I began my enrollment at the Department of Labor Job Corps. It was quite the experience. I was a little bit older than most of the other students. There is nothing wrong with that. If anything, they are getting even further ahead in life. Leaving For me, it was not such an opportunity. I was treated as an outsider from another city, and I was not taken seriously by any of the administrators. I hate to say it, but it was not much better than any of my other schools. The only difference was that I had the choice to walk away. I was no longer a child begging for the opportunity to grow, I was a grown man who had the choice to walk away from abuse. On My Own Once I successfully accomplished this, I was able to move on. All I had to do was keep writing. It makes so much sense to me now! Having written about so many of my favorite subjects, I have been able to learn even more than what I already knew. I've also had the ...

Fundraising!

Through my efforts to build a career, I have found that I do - indeed - have a calling! It is not exactly the calling that I wanted, but beggars cannot be choosers. I am the same kid that sat at the bottom of the totem pole for fifteen years living with my mother and her family. I am the same kid that was too good with computers to be left alone. I am also the same kid that is desperate to do the right thing and live in peace. As corporate stakeholders become increasingly relentless to produce A.I. (artificial intelligence) and other adulterated themes in the workplace, it is becoming increasingly impossible to be at peace. No workplace has room for such a contradictory statement from up-high. Basically, what it is telling me is that the rules do not work anymore. There is no direct flow of traffic or signals coming over the airwaves or even through the front door. It is a popularity contests and the losers will be starved out until they run away crying in need of medical assistance. S...

Professional Writing

I have begun writing on a usual basis again. It really started with a notebook journal that my grandmother bought me on Amazon. It is a nice little book with a plastic leather binding and a book mark. I enjoy its creativity and it even has an indication of the weather next to the date section. It has provided me with a place to express more than just a thought. It is a memory!  Photo credits - (https://flic.kr/p/edhY6V) I can now say that I have expanded my writing outside of the personal or scholarly realm. I am no longer limited to writing about things that my teacher assigned to me or boring junk about video games that I found on the internet. I have met some amazing people who have amazing stories that they are sharing with the world. One day at a time, we continue to show the next set of up and comers that it is worth it. Life goes on. The show must go along with it! Photo credits - (https://flic.kr/p/2457wdB) I may not have my personal story fully uploaded quite yet, but I li...

Other Blogs

Heads up! November 27, 2024 | By: Zayne Harbison Blogging This blog will be my main page from here on out! I hope to inspire as many people as possible using the power of basic internet access and thorough understanding of basic networking ! As daunting as this task was and still is for me - and no matter how much I hope people respect that - it will never be that way for others. The internet was the worst thing in my life growing up, and sometimes it makes me feel like I never grew up at all. Laughing at silly pictures on the internet all day or getting irately angry every time a politician makes a dumb tweet is just not healthy for an adult man. I grew up in what most people call "the hood" or "the ghetto" to drop just a few of the labels that have been given to me. Looking White does not make that much different, if you ask me. All it does is drive a wedge even further between me and other people. If I try to be myself, it is laughed at or mocked ...

Chainmail Letters

Photo credits - (Swagatika Behera at Flickr) We have all seen it. It may not have been in our lifetime, but the cliche is easily visible in old paper copy files or when the old timey message is flowing across the silver screen. It seems so cheesy now. Once upon a time, it was just another day at the office. August 7, 2004 - Sub: BIIIIG Yawn! - CC: nosyjosie@company-news.corp FWD: Jerry in Financial  Hello dear sir or madam! You have been privileged with this clipart GIF of a cat doing a stretch! Also, today is Monday! You know what that means! The line to the coffee pot is going to be phenomenal this morning.  P.S. - Hubert smells bad today. ;D If this looks familiar, then you know what this is referencing. If not, we have some ground to cover. Let us begin here. What is worse than a Monday at the office? The only thing that could be worse than listening to the copy machine right outside your cubicle whirring all morning is listening to Susan one cubicle over have ...
